Catco Heaters have been the tried-and-true oilfield heater for decades now, and they are so safe that they can even operate in places where open-flame/most electric heaters cannot!
Catco Heaters generate heat through a process called a catalytic reaction. When fuel gas (propane or natural gas) encounters a pre-heated catalyst bed, the catalytic reaction initiates, causing the heater to quickly heat up. In a nutshell, this means that a Catco Heater is safe for oilfield use, because there isn't an open flame (they are C1D1 hazardous rated).
